My show in Tulsa, OK opened June 14 and will be up until July 6, 2012. It is at the Alexandre Hogue Gallery at the University of Tulsa. It was a lot of fun putting all the pieces up and seeing everything come together.
Both of my sons have Autism Spectrum Disorder. I make art about kids on the spectrum to show the world how beautiful autism can be.

Your work is inspiring!!!!My name is Esther Whitney I am 24 years old and I have Aspergers Syndrome. I am currently studying visual arts at Birmingham City University and I am in my final year. Most of my art work communicates my daily struggles with living with Aspergers and all the anxiety which goes along side the condition. I struggle to communicate on a social level with people so I use my skills in art to have my say and communicate the way I see the world.
ReplyDeleteI have recently exhibited my work in the Reveal 2 exhibition, exploring the link between art and autism. This was held in the G2 gallery in Solihull Birmingham. I was also a winner in the National Beechwood College Create Art for Autism competition which was held last year. http://www.beechwoodcollege.co.uk/news/2011/07/21/create-art-for-autism-finalists-2011/

My art work is about bringing more awareness and to educate people about what it is like to have an autistic spectrum disorder. I was wonderin if you might be interested in seeing my work?
Sure! Not sure how much help I can be, since i'm pretty new to this myself, but I'd love to see it! :)
